Thank you for visiting our site and for your interest in Alexis. On March 13th, 2008, Alexis was flown into a hospital showing signs of a normal case of the flu. Alexis was diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy. The doctors at Children's Medical Center in Dallas reccommended a life saving heart transplant.
Due to the severity of her condition, action had to be taken in order to save Alexis' life. The action take was the use of a miraculous new invention called the BERLIN HEART. Since the procedure, this young girl has shown strength and courage beyond her years. Her mother has been at the hospital every day, making the hospital their second home. Her family and friends have stood by her, and her story has touched many lives.

I met Alexis when her dad, Gaylond Miller, called in to my radio show and won concert tickets. He told me about himself and how he drove a big rig for a living. He also let me know that he could never have afforded the tickets on his own. When I asked why, he spoke to me about Alexis' condition. I was so moved by Gaylond's strength and dignity during our conversation, that I was moved to help. I was able to meet Alexis and her mother, Leticia, several days later. I want you to meet Alexis as well.
Needless to say, the cost of Alexis' Medical Care is staggering. The emotional cost to her parents, Gaylond and Leticia is beyond comprehension.
